This Is Only A Test.....
This is a little experiment... In one of my photography magazines, they had a little fun test you could try with nothing more than a champagne flute and a computer monitor. Kind of fun to see the results!

A Matter of Perspective!
Sometimes, looking at things from another angle can be enlightening! Or, just all the blood rushes to your head.

Hey Stranger!
Another new bird showed up in my tree yesterday, and I think she's a Downy Woodpecker. She sure looked out of the ordinary with all the robins, cardinals, sparrows, and jays that normally feed at the buffet. I think maybe with the snow, she decided to head to the 'hood in search of grub.

Spring Snow
While many people woke up this morning, saw the white stuff, and began swearing.... I was very excited at the Narnia-esque snow that we had gotten overnight. I went out for a hike, and it was so peaceful and calm - almost like being in another world. It'll be gone in a few hours and then things will be a sloppy mess. Mother Nature is just letting us know that she has the reins!

The Crane! The Crane!
(A little Fantasy Island play-on-words there.....get it? get it?) Spent Sunday amidst thousands of migrating Sandhill cranes, and it was quite a spectacle to behold.

March Full Moon
Saturday was the "Super Moon"- where the moon was closer to the earth than ever before, and it was supposed to look bigger than normal. Well, good 'ol Nebraska weather prevented the show. Luckily, I had snapped some photos of the full moon Friday night. Here is a rendition thru some branches.

Wee Hawk?
Shot this little guy, and I thought instantly, "Man, that's a small little hawk!" When I got home and did a little research, he sure looks like a Prairie Falcon. Even with Lake Zorinsky drained, still lots of wildlife. Shot a Bald Eagle later on that same walk.

Dargo the Great
This is Dargo, a large Monitor lizard. I am going to be his babysitter, (and his 3 siblings) and yesterday I learned how to feed them. If you like cute, fuzzy rats - a Monitor lizard is not for you. They are pretty neat looking and each one has different coloring.

My Favorite....So Far
I am really enjoying taking photos of the migrating eagles. They are such awesome birds. I've literally taken thousands of photos, but this has to be one of my favorites.

I'm Keeping An Eye On You
This guy let me get pretty close. He didn't seem too worried, but he didn't take his eyes off me either.

New Bird in Town
A whole herd of these little buggers attacked my tree today to eat the remaining berries. I identified them as Cedar Waxwings. I wish it had been sunny, their colors are quite flashy and the photo would have really popped. Someday the sun will come out again.....

Photographer's Assistant
Here is Tazer staying put while I duck back into the trees to take photos of deer. He is watching the deer intently, but he stayed where he was at!

What a hoot!
I was walking thru the trees taking photos of deer, and something caught my eye. The last bit of evening sun was shining thru the trees and gave me some great light to catch this Barred Owl. I was so stoked!

Eagle Eye
I was very fortunate to be able to see some migrating eagles feed from a well-stocked pond. They would swoop down, grab their fish, and away they went! They are amazing to watch, and there were about 80 of them. Look for more photos of these Bald Eagles, I took a ton! Amazing creatures.
