Dive Bombing Birds

Tree Swallows will dive bomb you. I saw them attacking a hawk at the lake the other day. They will also dive bomb you when you get too close to their territory to take a photo. :)

It's nice and warm.... doggie pool party! Neelah "supervises" the filling of the pool.

Wet Rose

I'm pretty much sick of all this rain. It can stop any time.

Red Tailed Hawk

It was a cold and dreary day, but I decided to go for a bike ride anyway. As I spun around the lake, I saw a large bird hanging out on a log close to the drained lake. I managed to sneak up on him, and get pretty darn close. He never flew away. Made my day!

Colors

I really liked these shots I got because of the blended background colors.... both were taken in the morning hours. Goldfinch on top, Western Kingbird on bottom.

End of the World?

Yesterday some folks thought the end of the world was near. I took advantage of the beautiful day and went hiking and biking. Managed to get a couple great shots of an Indigo Bunting as well. Yes, the world is very much alive. :o)

Orioles

Well, they haven't come to my feeder yet, but I know what they sound like so they are easy to hunt down on the trails. Bright, pretty birds with a lovely little song!

My Trusty Steed

Every morning I get up before some of you are even awake, and I go for a bike ride. I recently got a sports strap for my camera so I can sling it on my back while I ride. Most often, I jam my tunes to keep me pumped after just hopping out of bed. Lately, I've been riding without music so I can hear the birds and try to follow them and get some photos. It's a great way to start the day -cardio and Nature.

May Full Moon Part 2

I love taking shots of the moon. Last night, there were some awesome clouds in the way, and it made for some interesting effects. No Photoshop on this. I could stay up all night long and take pictures of the moon.  If my neighbors look outside, they might think I am stalking someone.

Climbing Clematis

My clematis is going CRAZY up my fence right now! It's taken a few years to get it going, but WOW it's huge! It's in a little area of my yard I call then "Butterfly Garden" with lots of flowers that attract butterflies.

Self Portrait..... kinda

OK, this may break the rules, but this photo was taken with MY camera, at least! A friend took this of Tazer and me in the ring this past weekend competing in Agility. I am guiding Tazer around the course with my magic pointy laser finger and he is doing his job!

Tug 'O War

The kids at the nearby school were having a field day, and one of the events was Tug of War. It was fun to watch them talk trash to each other and then give it their best.

Gobble

I was driving back into Omaha early this morning, and from a distance, I could see this big guy strutting his stuff and trying to impress the ladies.

I Got It!

A little blurry -  I was trying to get shots of Treo chasing his ball. He is darn fast and hard to get! I will keep trying for that perfect shot!

Tulip Time!

*Click the photo to enlarge it*
We had a little field trip to Pella, IA to take in all of the tulips. They were gorgeous! They only bloom for a short while, so we timed it right! Look for more shots of these colorful flowers.

Warbler

Took a pic of this bird...best I can identify is a Yellow-Rumped Warbler. Any other guesses?
