The Crane! The Crane!
(A little Fantasy Island play-on-words there.....get it? get it?) Spent Sunday amidst thousands of migrating Sandhill cranes, and it was quite a spectacle to behold.
I LOVE the play on words! :) Great pic - these guys live here so I find it very interesting that folks in the mid section of America are so fascinated with them. They are cool birds but you know... when you see something everyday it isn't quite as exciting! There is a field by my house though that up until about a month ago you could see 50-100 Sandhill Cranes in every morning. Very cool sight to see!
Oh wow.. yeah, it's a big deal here, people travel from all over to see them migrate and roost morning and evening. There are so many of them at one time, it's like a scene from a horror movie!
