Owl
So, tonight I am doing a night-time bike ride called the OWL (Omaha With Lights) ride. It starts at 11pm and you bike all through different parts of Omaha. It sounds fun, and everyone decorates their bikes with lights, and there are great stops along the way like Jonas Bros Cupcakes and PITCH Pizza. I may be pooped tomorrow competing in agility, but this will definitely be a fun ride! This owl was taken at the Lee G Simmons Conservation Park.

Jumping Spider Sez HI!

Bald Eagle
OK, before you get too excited, this guy was in captivity. I went on our zoo's wildlife safari, and they happen to have 2 Bald Eagles in a nice outdoor aviary. Obviously they had been injured at one time and could not be returned to the wild, so they hang out here for people to see close-up. I am lucky I see wild eagles a lot on my morning bike rides. These guys are so neat.

Flooding
For those of you who don't know, the Missouri River has flooded, causing LOTS of problems. People's houses are flooded, farmland, parks, not to mention some main interstates. Getting places is a pain and you have to come up with creative driving. It's a sad deal, and it's going to take a long time for the waters to recede.

Badda-BOOM!
I had a fun time over the holiday weekend trying to snap fireworks. I think the best show was the one in my own backyard. Thank goodness for neighbors who like to spend tons of $$$ on explosives. We all enjoyed the show for free!

No More Room!
I obviously need to put out more bird feeders. If I do, the neighbors will truly think I am a little old bird lady. So, maybe I will refrain and just let the birds duke it out for prime buffet spots.
