Three's Company
Took this shot today of Norah, Neelah, and Asha. Obviously I need to clean my front patio glass, but it sure made for some neat textures in this shot. It really looked sharp when I converted to black and white. Notice that Neelah is the only one looking at me... she doesn't want to miss a thing. That's my girl.

Rainy Day
We've had 3 straight days of rain. Needless to say.... my yard needs mowing. In March? I normally don't pull out the mower until May. And I already have a sweet farmer's tan from biking. Ooooooh yeah. Need to get rid of that before I hit the beach in June.

The Sandhill Cranes
Some pals and I made the trek west to check out the migrating Sandhill Cranes. Always a spectacular sight when they all take to the air! We saw them doing their "dances" and hopping around. It was a great day, and I even got a little bit of a sunburn! In MARCH????!

What A Hoot
The weather is getting nicer and I was able to take the bike out! With my trusty camera strapped to my back, my Barred Owl buddy was hanging out by the bike path. I am so lucky to live close to this wonderful lake and path: Zorinsky Lake and Recreation Area . I can easily ride my bike there, and it's a great area. There are woods, prairies, marshes, and a lake. LOTS of great wildlife too. I saw a Bald Eagle there the other day as well! Between the field behind my house and the lake path, the dogs and I have no problems getting worn out!

Obsessed
I know, I know.... ya'll are sick of me and my eagle obsession. I can't help it! It's like my obsession with sugary sweet PEEPS candy. I love them, and I want more. ...So goes the story of photographing eagles. I can just sit there and watch them for hours. They are so powerful and huge. I was always striving to have my photos reflect how powerful they are. Just look at those talons! I have enjoyed the migration this year, and the warm winter brought a TON of eagles with lots of open water for fishing. I even had bald eagles 2 minutes from my house. Crazy! As the eagles head north, I can now review and reflect on the 2,107 eagle photos I took. I have decided to enter some photo contests with them, I really feel like they are good quality and exhibit the power of this awesome raptor.

Eating My Words
Alright... it was just my last post where I said that I did not feel like I had taken a "perfect" eagle shot yet....
I can now say that I have come pretty darn close to perfect when it comes to eagle photography! I am SO happy with how these turned out. Mother Nature really helped me out with awesome light and active eagles. I will never tire of taking photos of eagles...but at least I feel pleased with the shots that I did get.
